Pre-booking reminders help reduce no-shows by nudging guests the day before their visit. The feature is off by default — turn it on when you are ready.
How It Works#
- Guest has a confirmed booking with an email address
- 24 hours before the booking start time (in your venue timezone), TableGo sends one reminder email
- Guest can open the email to review date, time, party size, and manage their booking
Enabling Reminders#
Navigate: Settings → Guest Management → Pre-booking Reminders
- 1
Open Pre-booking Reminders
From your restaurant settings, go to Guest Management → Pre-booking Reminders.
- 2
Choose timing
Select Off or 24 hours before booking.
- 3
Save
Click Save Changes to apply.
Who Receives a Reminder?#
- Confirmed bookings only — not pending, cancelled, or walk-ins without an email
- Bookings with a guest email on file
- One reminder per booking — no duplicate sends
36-Hour Booking Rule#
For the default 24-hour reminder, the booking must be created at least 36 hours before the visit. This avoids sending a confirmation email and a reminder almost back-to-back for short-notice bookings.
- Booking 25–30 hours ahead — no reminder
- Booking 36+ hours ahead — reminder sends as expected
Example: a booking for Saturday 7pm needs to be made by Thursday 7am or earlier to receive a Friday 7pm reminder.
When You First Turn Reminders On#
Existing bookings do not all get reminders at once. Only bookings whose 24-hour window is still in the future will receive one. Bookings whose reminder time has already passed are skipped — there is no catch-up send.
Reschedules and Changes#
- Before the reminder is sent — timing follows the updated booking date and time
- After the reminder is sent — guests do not receive a second reminder; they get a booking updated email with the new details instead
For same-day or next-day bookings, rely on your confirmation email. Pre-booking reminders are designed for bookings made with enough lead time.
